The materials in this text are for people to reflect on together within a diverse reflective learning group.
There are specific sets of questions to consider. These are gathered around the three reflection stages where we are invited to:
- Find Our Voice.
- Examine the Reasons we, and others, act in different ways?
- Exercise the Choices now open to usi.
Although these are the three stages the materials are organised around, we do not demand that the questions are followed slavishly.
As the facilitator you have different life experiences, skills and levels of confidence. These might mean that you are somewhere on a spectrum between welcoming the detailed structure and wishing to closely follow it right across to the other end, where you are feeling confident in facilitating very open discussions with group members with these three stages informing your approach in the background.
Whatever your approach, your central learning task is to create an atmosphere that enables each person to find their voice, examine the reasons why they and others have acted in particular ways and, where they wish, support each person exercise a new choice and a new path or remain, affirmed, in their present way of living with others.
